WELCOME TO PSYCHOLOGICAL RESOURCES!

I always wanted to build my own website
If you're thinking of engaging the services of a psychotherapist, I'd be happy to be in the running and hope that this site helps you make a good choice. Please note that "Thoughts on Psychotherapy" (above) has subsections on Couples Work and Group Psychotherapy. They open up when you put the mouse over the words "Thoughts on Psychotherapy." There are plenty of therapists, no two are alike and it's important to choose one you feel comfortable with, and who understands you and your issues. You want somebody with experience, but they still should be excited about the work and open to new learning. The therapy process can be time consuming, expensive and at times difficult or even painful. At the same time it should make sense, feel somehow "right" and be leading toward greater freedom and greater engagement with life itself. You should feel lighter as a result of the process, although paradoxically you also may feel more sadness at times. All the great theological and philosophical treatises ultimately relate to the problem of human suffering, and the rose and the thorn grow on the same bush, so sometimes you need to be able to relate to suffering in order to also discover joy. That's a broad statement, but psychotherapy should relate to the whole spectrum, and the therapist should be conversant with these issues while insuring that the focus stays on you. If you look through this site and have any comments or questions, please contact me at jtsbrown@psych-resources.com, or call me at 303/449-2996. I will get back with you within 24 hours.
